Abu Dhabi’s biggest property developer is teaming with one of the Gulf emirate’s wealth funds to launch a new investment platform, targeting real estate and infrastructure opportunities across the UAE and the wider GCC region.
Aldar Properties PSJC will partner Mubadala Capital, the asset management unit of Mubadala Investment Co. to form Aldar Capital, according to a statement. The venture will seek to raise $1 billion next year and aims to offer strategies designed to meet draw in global institutional investors seeking exposure to the region.
“The firm will offer professionally managed funds for institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, fund of funds, insurance companies and family offices,” the statement said. Aldar Capital will be based Abu Dhabi’s financial center ADGM.
