Trojan Construction Holding, a unit of Abu Dhabi-listed investment firm Alpha Dhabi Holding, has named Ahmed Al Shamsi as group chief executive officer, bringing in a utilities-sector veteran to steer the contractor’s next phase of growth.
Al Shamsi joins the company after serving as chief executive officer of TAQA Water Solutions since June 2021. His appointment comes as infrastructure and real estate development accelerates across the Gulf, driven by government-backed investment programs and expanding urban projects.
In his new role, Al Shamsi will focus on expanding Trojan’s geographic footprint, strengthening its construction and infrastructure capabilities and improving operational efficiency, the company said. “My focus will be on strengthening the Group’s core competencies, expanding into high‑growth markets, and embedding operational excellence across the business,” he said.
Trojan Construction is among the largest contractors in the Gulf Cooperation Council and has been involved in a number of high-profile developments. The company has worked on landmark projects including the Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. It also partners with major developers such as Aldar, Modon and Emaar.
