Emirates Global Aluminium, one of the world’s largest producers of the metal, has reportedly kicked off preliminary meetings with investors as it explores a potential initial public offering that could rank among the Gulf’s largest share sales.
The aluminum producer is increasingly favouring Abu Dhabi as the venue for a listing, rather than Dubai, Bloomberg reported, adding that the discussions remain at an early stage, with no final decision on the exchange and no certainty the offering will go ahead.
Emirates Global Aluminium is jointly owned by the sovereign wealth funds of Abu Dhabi and Dubai — Mubadala Investment Co. and the Investment Corporation of Dubai. Read the company’s financial statement here.
Banks expected to spearhead the transaction include Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Emirates NBD Capital and First Abu Dhabi Bank, with Rothschild & Co. acting as adviser, according to Bloomberg.
